The European Travel Commission (ETC) and the China Tourism Academy (CTA) signed an agreement to collaborate on the development of promotional activities for the 2018 EU-China Tourism Year.

The signing took place in Beijing, China in February 2017, and included the participation of Professor Dai Bin, President of CTA; Eric Philippart, Special Counsellor for the project; Jacopo Sertoli, CEO at Welcome Chinese; Eduardo Santander, Executive Director at ETC; and Tom Jenkins, Executive Director at the European Tourism Association (ETOA).

ETC recognized Welcome Chinese as the standard of reference for the European market. ETC and CTA have agreed to exchange relevant market data and collaborate on EU China Tourism Year reporting.

CTA is a Chinese governmental institution that promotes and develops the Chinese tourism industry and fosters international exchange. CTA’s National Tourism Data Centre is dedicated to research and data analysis for tourism theories, policies, key industry development issues, and tourism promotion.
