Red Romantic Rhine – Ehrenbreitstein Fortress

The gateways to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Upper Middle Rhine Valley were illuminated in red.

The huge fortress of “Ehrenbreitstein” in Koblenz, which marks the northern gateway to the World Heritage Site ‘Upper Middle Rhine Valley’, will be illuminated in red. Similarly, 67km up the Rhine river in Bingen, the “Mouse Tower”, the southern gateway to the site, also shone in red. These illuminations symbolised a Light Bridge to China and are dedicated to the EU-China Tourism Year.
