The Government Palace, the Statue of Liberty and the Portal of the border San Marino-Rimini will be illuminated in red on Saturday 2 March, and Sunday 3 March. The event coincides with the celebration of the Lantern Festival in China, symbol of hope and good fortune for the year to come.

The Statue of Liberty has been reproduced in real dimensions for the San Marino pavilion at the Shanghai Expo 2010. Now it is conserved in the Expo Museum at Shanghai Pu-Dong.

In 2018 a philatelic set dedicated to Europe-China Tourism Year will be issued by the Philatelic and Numismatic Office of San Marino.
