Red Romantic Rhine – Mouse Tower

The gateways to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Upper Middle Rhine Valley were illuminated in red.

The “Mouse Tower” in Bingen, at the southern gateway to the World Heritage Site ‘Upper Middle Rhine Valley’, was illuminated in red. Similarly, 67km down the river Rhine in Koblenz, the huge “Ehrenbreitstein” fortress ,which marks the northern gateway to the site, also shone in red. These illuminations symbolised a Light Bridge to China, and were dedicated to the EU-China Tourism Year.
